Founder and Chairperson

Mrs.Neerja Birla is an educationist and mental health advocate dedicated to creating a more inclusive and compassionate society. As the Founder and Chairperson of The Aditya Birla Integrated School (TABIS), she has redefined the landscape of inclusive education for children with learning disabilities. Since its establishment in 2014, TABIS has been at the forefront of inclusive education in India, offering personalised education and emotional well-being to empower students to reach their fullest potential, irrespective of their learning abilities.

Mrs. Neerja Birla's leadership in TABIS reflects her belief that every child deserves an education tailored to their unique needs. The school’s approach integrates both academic support and emotional care, setting new benchmarks for accessible and inclusive education in India.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Neerja Birla’s impact resonates through her advocacy for mental health via Mpower, a pioneering initiative committed to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and enhancing access to care across India. Among its many programs is Minds Matter, a one-of-a-kind, school-based mental health curriculum designed to help students from grades 1-12 build emotional resilience and gain a deeper understanding of mental health. Her transformative efforts have earned widespread recognition, including prestigious accolades such as the Golden Peacock Award for Social Leadership (2023), the G20 Empower India Woman Achiever Award (2023), the Most Influential Educationist and Mental Health Reformist Award by Navbharat Times (2023), and being featured in Fortune India’s 50 Most Powerful Women list (2021, 2023, and 2024).

A child’s emotional and psychological well-being is of prime importance to us. Our philosophy of acceptance, tolerance, and empathy ensures that every child in our care will be happy, because through happiness only, education and learning become an effortless journey.

Aisha Bharmal has completed her Master’s in Psychology and holds a Special Education degree with specialisation in Learning Disabilities. She has 17 years of experience working with children who have different learning needs. She began her journey with TABIS in 2014 as a teaching faculty member, and has been heading the Junior School department since 2016. Her range of experience includes teaching as well as planning and adapting curriculum. She enjoys reading, cooking, and comedy content. She believes that kindness is the most underrated quality, and being able to laugh at oneself is one of the most essential life skills!
